The property is four minutes walk from the
medieval village of Gréolières, which offers three
restaurants, a bar, a post office, a bakery and a grocery selling
most basic requirements.
The ski station at Gréolières les
Neiges is the closest to the Riviera (21km from the coast as the
crow flies!) and although smaller than those further to the North,
offers over 30km of pistes at all levels of difficulty, as well
as the main cross country skiing centre in the region. The snow
usually arrives by Christmas, and skiing is possible until around
mid-March.
The 'Grand Canyon of Europe', the Verdon Gorge,
is but an hour away by car, and its spectacular views have to be
seen to be believed.
The cultural history of the region is well-known.
Museums and galleries of art containing works by Picasso, Chagall,
Matisse and many others are situated in towns and cities within
easy reach of the valley. And for a night on the town, the bright
lights of Nice, Monte Carlo (we are also ideally situated for a
week's holiday based around the annual Grand Prix at Monaco), Antibes
and Cannes with all their nightlife are an hour's drive away at
most.
